It would be so much easier to root for you if you used your vocabulary instead of expletives.

Outrage is the appropriate response to injustice, and expletives are an effective way to convey outrage. This story is not intended for first-graders, so I don’t see why it’s a problem that my vocabulary includes the selective use of context-appropriate profanity.

Are my arguments less powerful because of the language in which I expressed them? Or are you not rooting for me because my writing style makes me look less innocent and thus paints me as less of a “sympathetic victim”?
