You’re generally saying true things, and I agree that the comparison with 1930’s Germany is apt. But please don’t paraphrase Niemöller and remove Jews from a poem about the Holocaust. Please don’t, especially when Jews were specifically targeted in Charlottesville. I doubt you did this intentionally, but please don’t erase us or allow us to be erased while you’re calling on the metaphors of our specific tragedy.
