Awesome! It’s amazing how close with timing on these projects we are to each other… our cabinets go in on the 17th!

I highly recommend downloading a program like SketchUp (free) or AutoCAD and building out the space in 3D… It was so helpful for us to visualize the space and move things around to visualize all of our options before we pulled the trigger. SketchUp is awesome too because you can quickly import things like ovens and refrigerators directly from many companies websites into the program! Feel free to view our floor plan here!

I love open shelf kitchens! I couldn’t convince my SO to pull the trigger on it but I’m excited to see how yours turns out. We have one wall in our kitchen that will be brick with no uppers and I think I’d like to have a couple open shelves on them at least for a small amount of accessories and decorations.

Where do you plan on getting your cabinets from? Love the idea of the honed marble countertops, one thing I will say though is that true marble countertops are sooooo dangerous for stains and etching. You might want to consider a quartz that has a marble look. There are a lot of amazing examples out there that are really convincing but have none of the upkeep. My SO and I had a marble tile counter at our old home and we HATED IT… not just for the fact that it was tile but because the tiles etched so easily…. if you spilled a soda or some orange juice you had a stain on your counter till the end of eternity…. we swore we’d just do quartz in our new home.

We chose to go with Solid Surfaces Unlimited’s Snowy River Quartz, which is a great Marble alternative…. They have some great options for a marble look.

Anyways, good luck with your planning! Should you need a second opinion or want us to give you our reaction once all of our stuff is installed let us know!
