Before You Watch the Equestrian Games

Wonderful article, Erica Franz. The fact that you cited the rules of dressage, thus exposing how the use of LDR/Rollkur goes against the very nature of dressage, without taking the words out of context strongly supports your stance. Hard to argue against that seeing as you didn’t use the rules out of context. I do have a question though regarding Rollkur/LDR use having watched the team eventing and individual eventing jumping (not the cross country or dressage portions though). Was Rollkur and/or LDR used during the jumping? I’m still learning the difference between on the vertical and behind the vertical/slightly behind the vertical. I have been around Saddlebreds (gaited, no chains, hooves lengthened at the front and supported with a small leather pad on the back as the horses, shoes or no shoes, rack in the pastures on their own accord), so I’m used to really long necks and it’s hard for me to tell if a different breed of horse is BTV.
