1. When did you start writing and what made you do that?
I started writing at the age of 18 years. As a reserved person, I couldn’t find it easy to share my problems, overwhelmed emotions and ideas sometimes therefore I started writing in my diary first regarding my thoughts and life. Slowly somehow, I started writing quotes and little poems. So, I guess life, the feeling to express and share my emotions and unpredictable shades of my life contributed in starting my writing journey.
2. What is the role of Miraquill in your writing journey?
I remember finding Miraquill on Google play store as an application or platform to share quotes, poems, and articles and I did not even think it would have an impact in my life but it has made me a wiser and a mature person. It has helped me to grow as a writer, as I didn’t take writing seriously or never considered myself as a writer, but Miraquill gave me a beautiful readership who supported me, inspired me throughout this journey. I feel blessed to be part of the Miraquill family, as they have showered selfless love and kindness on me which I never thought I would have.
3. What’s the toughest part about being a writer?
In my opinion, writing gives me peace, contentment and satisfaction. It connects me to people, this world and mainly to my own self. But time comes when there is flood or frost. There are such times where I can feel stuck and words don’t come to me or I feel unable to put my emotions into words and as writing is a habit now, I feel restless if I am unable to express my emotions and transfer them into words. It brings anxiety and frustration to myself if I don’t write. So, for me it is the hardest phase to deal with as a writer when you
can’t write.
4. Tell us about your artistic process (do you write prose or poetry) where do you draw your inspiration from?
I have been consistent in my poetry in different ways rather than writing prose since a long time but last year I started writing a series of articles called “Homo sapiens” (26 chapters till now) which turned out to be very good for me. Since sometime I have been writing songs too (34 till now). My all-time inspiration in writing any of these would just be this Homo Sapiens’ life, predicaments we face, the way we choose to deal with circumstances, how we hold our own point of view but learn to adapt different perspectives and explore world together, and never give up even after breaking down many times.
5. Who are your all time writers?
My all time favourite writers are Mary Oliver, Billy Collins, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Jane Austen, Earnest Hemingway, Emily Dickinson and Charles Bukowski. However, I keep reading and exploring classic writers so it’s not a fixed list as more and more writers will add up.
6. A memory from your Miraquill journey that always brings a smile on your face.
The friends that I have made; immense love I have gotten always brings a smile on me. But typically, when people read homo sapiens series and say I give hope to them, give better versions of complex stuff inside their mind and help them that makes my heart smile, when they sing my song while reading and wait to listen to those audio clips of my songs that motivates me.
