Official Rules for Spare Rides’ Scratch and Win cards
No purchase or payment is necessary to enter or win. This promotional offer is only open to legal residents of the city of Vancouver, in the province of British Columbia. By participating in this promotional offer, you represent that you satisfy all of the eligibility requirements in section 2, below, and you are deemed to have read and agree to be bound unconditionally by these official rules (“Rules”). Any violation of these rules may, in Spare Rides’ discretion, result in disqualification.
This promotion is being provided by Spare Labs, Inc. (“Spare Rides”) and is open to any individual who satisfies the eligibility requirements set forth in Section 2 below.
1. Promotion Period. From 12:00 am PST Sunday June 19th, 2016 to 6:59 pm PST Sunday June 19th, 2016 (the “Promotion Period”) eligible participants (“Participants”) will be offered Spare Rides scratch and win cards at certain promotional events occurring in the city of Vancouver during the Promotion Period.
2. Eligibility. This promotion is open to residents of the city of Vancouver, British Columbia, who are at least sixteen (16) years of age, and who own or control an iPhone, except:
a. Officers, directors, members and employees of Spare Rides or any other party associated with the development and/or administration of this Promotion or any immediate family members of the same; and
b. Anyone who fails to comply with these Rules or otherwise tampers with the entry process.
3. Promotion Rules and Redeeming Prizes. To enter the Promotion, Participants must, within the Promotion Period, (i) meet the Eligibility requirements; (ii) receive a scratch and win card from Spare Rides’ at a promotional event; and (iii) agree to these Rules. LIMIT: One scratch card per person. No purchase necessary.
All instant prizes must be redeemed the same day the Scratch and Win card is received by Participant. Prizes may be redeemed in person at the nearest Spare Rides promotional booth in accordance with these Rules during the Promotion Period. No mechanical reproductions (i.e. photographs) will be accepted or eligible for redemption.
Before being declared a winner, a Participant must first correctly answer, without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise, a time-limited mathematical skill testing question to be administered by Spare Rides in person at the nearest Spare Rides booth.
Spare Rides has the right, at any time to verify that Participants meet the Eligibility requirements in Section 2. Spare Rides reserves the right to disqualify any Participants who, in Spare Rides’ sole discretion, do not comply with these rules.
All Scratch and Win cards are the property of Spare Rides, and will not be returned once redeemed by Participant. All Scratch and Win cards are subject to verification and shall be null and void if they are found to have been obtained outside legitimate channels of distribution or are illegible, forged, not original, defaced, altered, mutilated or tampered with in any way or not obtained in accordance with these contest rules. Spare Rides Labs shall not be in any way responsible for scratch cards which are late, delayed, stolen, illegible, misdirected, incomplete, forged, lost or destroyed, or have been altered, reproduced or forged, in the opinion of the judges, and all such scratch cards are void. All scratch cards redeemed after 11:59 pm PST on October 28st, 2016 are null and void and are not eligible to receive a prize.
Prizes are non-transferable, cannot be substituted, cannot be converted to cash, have no cash surrender value, and must be accepted as awarded subject to the following: Spare Rides Labs reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to substitute a prize with one of equivalent or greater value for any reason.
By accepting a prize, winners consent to the use of their name and photograph for advertising purposes without additional compensation. All personal information Spare Rides receives from Participants in connection with the Promotion will be treated in accordance with the terms of the Spare Rides Privacy Policy.
4. Instant Prizes.
The total value of all the prizes is valued at approximately $5515 CAD and the odds of winning one of the prizes is one hundred percent (100%). For greater certainty, while each card is a winner, the odds of winning specific prizes varies, so for example, the odds of winning a Samsung Galaxy Tab A is (1 in 500), but the odds of winning a free ride is 1:1.05

To claim an instant prize, please complete the skill-testing question on the back of the card and go to the closest Spare Rides booth located at the same event. Prizes will be delivered to winners immediately when the Scratch Card is redeemed.
NOTE: In order to use certain prizes, for example the $10 value free passenger ride, you may be required to download the Spare Rides App onto your iPhone and redeem the coupon code in Settings> Account Credits> Redeem code. The coupon code cannot be used more than once by the same person. Only one coupon code can be applied for the free ride.
5. Release. Participant hereby releases Spare Rides, its agents, employees, contractors (the “Released Parties”) from any and all liability arising from his/her participation in the Promotion or his/her acceptance, use, misuse, or awarding of any prize. Participant agrees to indemnify the Released Parties from any and all losses that Spare Rides may incur arising out of any act or omission by Participant in connection with the Promotion or any prize. Except where prohibited by law, Participant acknowledges and consents to Spare Rides’ and its authorized representatives’ right to publish and/or broadcast winner’s names and photographs without further compensation other than the prize offered.
6. Disclaimers. Scratch cards that contain printing, production, typographical, mechanical or other errors are automatically void. Spare Rides’ liability for such cards is limited to replacement with another Scratch card, while supplies last. Spare Rides assumes no responsibility for and under no circumstances will Spare Rides, its agents, employees, officers, contractors and assigns be liable to any person or business entity for any indirect, special, incidental, consequential, punitive, exemplary or other damages based on Participant’s participation in the Promotion, including for (i) entries that are incomplete, unintelligible, lost, late, misdirected; (ii) technical or human error related to the administration of the Promotion or processing entries; (iii) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the Promotion; (iv) any injury, loss or damage of any kind that may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from Participant’s participation in the Promotion, including claims based on publicity rights, or the use or misuse of the Participant by any prize received in connection with the Promotion; (v) any use of the Spare Rides’ App; or (vi) any Participant’s failure to abide by these Rules. The limitations of liability set forth in this Section 6 apply, without limitation, to any lost profits, and will apply even if Spare Rides has been specifically advised of the possibility of such damages.
7. Governing Law. By participating in this Promotion you agree to be bound by these Rules. All decisions of Spare Rides with respect to any aspect of the Promotion and these Rules, including, without limitation, the eligibility of Participants, and the validity of Scratch cards are final and binding on all Participants. The laws of the Province of British Columbia, and the laws of Canada applicable therein shall govern this Promotion and these Rules, without regard to conflicts of laws provisions. All disputes arising in connection with this Promotion and these Rules shall be resolved exclusively by a court located in Vancouver British Columbia. Participant hereby waives its right to participate in a class action. These Rules state all the terms and conditions governing the Promotion.
8. Cancellations and Changes. Spare Rides reserves the right, without prior notice, to cancel, modify or suspend the Promotion if, for any reason, the Promotion is not capable of running as planned or if the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Promotion is corrupted or adversely affected. Spare Rides reserves the right to amend the Rules without prior notice if any factor interferes with the proper conduct of the Promotion as contemplated by these Rules.
