“Real magic?” “Changed my life?” Aw c’mon now, don’t use the shock value of telling us NaNo sucks when it’s really been an awesome game-changer — you’re better than that. :-) NaNo for me is the literary equivalent of tarot cards, milagros, a rosary, or prayer candles: it simply serves as a focus for intent and inspiration. As with prayer, we might not get exactly what we want — something publishable — but we get what we need: results.
