Cinnamon also acts in cells mimicking insulin reducing sugar levels to 10–29 %.

Polyphenols in dark chocolate may improve insulin sensitivity, or how well insulin works in the body keeping blood sugar levels stable. You should choose 70% dark or more.

9. Caffeine

Caffeine in coffee contains polyphenols, as said before, these are powerful antioxidants that help increase insulin sensitivity. Coffee also contains the minerals magnesium and chromium. High magnesium intake has been related to lower rates of type 2 diabetes.
