The Confused Math Lady
The math lady or the confused lady is a meme expressing confusion. Hopefully you have seen this meme before if not maybe you have felt her confusion. It features a Brazilian actress named Renata Sorrah playing the character Nazare Tedesco in a telenovela, Senhora do Destino. Tedesco is very popular amongst telenovela fans and so a fan page was created to showcase her comical images. The first original sample was published on October 31st, 2013 via CrazyCrazy from UKMix forum as a gif with a caption that read:
The gif was considered a reaction image for the next couple of years to eventually become popular in Buzzfeed Portugal as of summer 2016. On July 29th it was considered the top post in Portugal. From here is where we see the modern day meme set with four images of Tedesco with math equations over her face. This was the original post in a meme version with 33,000 points by October 11th 2016 on 9GAG:

With the addition of the math equations it gained popularity back in Brazil as the meme version (instead of the gif) of the actress. Soon enough the United States saw the meme as well as Canada. Different versions of the meme were posted on the internet with confusing mathematical situations or just confusing situations in general. Below is a worldwide graphical representation of the interest of the meme. The highest point is February 6th, 2017.
