Dieboards are important things required by the die cutting industry. If you want to attain fast, high quality and efficient die cutting, you need dieboards of superior quality. However, before choosing a dieboard to use in a specific application, you need to know whether it’s suitable for that application or not. Dieboards come in different types, with each having its own merits and applications.

Dieboards are mainly available in two types — Flat Dieboards and Rotary Dieboards. They can be further classified into several types. If you want to know about these types, read on.

Flat Dieboards:

The different types of flat dieboards are listed below:

Flat Dieboard

1. Rayform Duracore

Rayform Dracore dieboards are highly strong, stable and flat dieboard made up of high strength thermoset resins. They can be re-knifed a number of times. Resistant to heat, it has great longevity, and is a high speed dieboard suitable for gasket dies, thermal diecutting, long runs and other tolerance dies that run with steel counters.

2. Rayform Ploycore

The Rayform/birch hybrid flat dieboard has a number of characteristics similar to Duracore. It’s light weight, but still offers a long-lasting, stable and strong die, which you can re-knife many times. Owing to its resilience and strength, it makes an ideal board for applications related to stripping and blanking.

3. Rayform Duraply

This dieboard is made up of birch cores and rayform faces, letting it exceed birch and maple in terms of strength, stability and flatness at reasonable cost. This makes the dieboard an ideal option for all diecutting applications involving a super high speed. Similar to all Rayform dieboards, you can re-knife this multiple times before any notable slot wear.

4. Rayform Klean Kerf

Klean Kerf was specifically designed to suit the requirements of different router bit type of dieboard manufacturing systems. Rayform face is developed specially for having the same clean characteristics and the same cut of wooden dieboard, but rule holding strength of Rayform Duracore. This can be re-knifed several times too for long runs.

5. Premium Maple

Premium maple is the strongest natural wooden dieboard displaying hard faces of maple with alternating soft and hard maple inner plies. It’s excellent for rule holding power, re-knifing and stability for daily production dies.

6. Premium Euro Birch

These are manufactured in one of the most reputed European mills, and they meet all basic flat dieboard needs.

Rotary Dieboards:

Following are the several types of rotary dieboards:

Rotary Dieboard

1. Rayform Rotary

This is the toughest among the rotary dieboards available now. They assure stable size control, re-knifability and longevity from one run to another.

2. Premium Beech Rotary

These are high quality beech dieboards with an impressive performance record in the industry for their consistent performance and quality.

3. Premium Maple Rotary

Maple rotary dieboard, an industry leading product, is manufactured by a carefully controlled process. When you need an additional strength of maple for diecutting tooling, a 100% maple board offers greater bridge strength, slot wear resistance, longer runs and extended life.

These are the key types of flat and rotary dieboards required by every manufacturer. If you need a dieboard, determine the application for which you need one and then choose the dieboard suitable for that application.
