I will introduce awesome Japanese restaurants in Charlotte, North Carolina. It is important to experience Japanese culture in the US.
1. YUME
Yume is located in Uptown. This restaurant has about 100 seats. Yume will serve lunch and dinner. Every weekend is crowded to eat Japanese food!This restaurant has a lot of Japanese alcohol and food. My recommendation is to try the Ramen. This Ramen is really delicious and costs $12–14. You can also choose extra toppings, for example: corn, menma(bamboo shoots), nori (seaweed)and other common toppings. This is fun so you can make your own ramen!
2. MUSASHI
This restaurant has all staff that are Japanese.They are very kind and friendly. You can experience real Japanese food in an authentic atmosphere. Musashi’s menu is all Japanese food including Tempura, sushi, soba (noodles), and sake. The prices range from about $10–13. It’s not too expensive!
3. TIN TIN
This restaurant has created a menu with sushi, sashimi, and maki. You can order from chef selected combination dishes to individual orders. Whether from the sushi bar or the hot kitchen, you’ll love all the great food and service that Tin tin cafe offers!
4. Mr. Tokyo
This restaurant style is a buffet. You can order as much Japanese food as you want. But be careful: if you order a lot of food and you can’t eat that, you still have to pay for it. How do you order the food? You write down your order on paper and give it to the staff. The buffet costs $18.99. If you don’t want the buffet, of course you can order a single item, but the buffet is better than a single item.
5. NAKATO
This is a Japanese steakhouse and sushi bar. This restaurant has been a Charlotte tradition since 1976 and this restaurant is very attractive. This meal is made to use teppan (steel plate) and chefs perform while cooking. Fire, flames, and sound…very attractive! You can spend a wonderful time in this restaurant!
6. FUTOBUTA
This restaurant is located near Uptown. You can go to there by the light rail. It has a good location. This restaurant has outdoor seating. You should eat in outside when the weather is good!This restaurant is famous for ramen. There are other creative ramens such as TONKOTSU, SHOYU and MISO RAMEN. Japanese fried chicken is the most dericious in Charlotte! If you visit Futobuta, you should try that.
7. YAMA
Yama is Izakaya. Izakaya is a Japanese restaurant/pub where people drink sake and beer after work. You can experience this Japanese pub in Charlotte. This restaurant has a lot of Sake. It is good to eat Japanese food while drinking Sake. You can have plenty of beer, sake and also a wide selection of casual meals like Yakitori, Ramen, Sushi.
