Through a collaboration between FIFA, Kinexon and Adidas, every ball used in the 2022 World cup in Qatar has a device suspended in the center.

When I think of this high Tech and innovation brought to play in the World Cup in Qatar, it becomes apparent to me the amount of data that is collected in just a single game, as every kick, head or a little touch felt by the ball sends data to a system at a record speed, which still picks up even when a ball at play is switched

It has got sensors working jointly with cameras on the pitch that tracks the movements of balls and players and providing more accurate and real time match statistics.

Now imagine the data that’ll be gotten in a year from all the major football tournaments; UEFA Champions League, Europa League, and so on.

Then give this data to a team of experienced Data Scientists and I can promise you a future where 90 or more minutes of full time game will be played with no referee and assistant referees on the pitch, only players.

This will not only reduce judgmental errors made by referees and game officials, but also eliminate the biases and favoritism that has proved to be an indomitable component of human nature.

And just as the application of advance technological system within finance, medicine, astronomy, etc only got better with time and continuous efforts, same applies to the soccer network.
