That’s one of my favorite things about Christmas — and one of the reasons why I love the lights so much. It’s a beautiful reminder that, even in the midst of the deepest darkness, there’s always light. There’s always hope.
“The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs — heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with Him in order that we may also be glorified with Him.”
That’s a powerful assurance of the Holy Spirit’s work within us — the promise of God’s adoption…
Just under two years ago now (it’ll be two years in March), I decided to make that a daily practice — asking God, “What’s next?”
Sometimes I don’t like the answer. Sometimes I’m so thrilled I can’t hardly stand it. But He always answers…and He’s always good.
For similar reasons, I love the end of the Gospel of John:
Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His name. (John 20:30–31, NIV)
I’ve started listening to audiobooks while I’m walking the dog, washing dishes, and fixing dinner. I used to lament the fact that I didn’t have time to read anymore. And I don’t have a lot of time to just sit and read like I used to. But there are times I can stack like that, and I’ve started doing it. Now I’m a much happier person. :-)
I’ve tried all of these except the consignment sales. They just sound like way too much work!
I actually thought the transcription thing was kind of interesting, but the pay wasn’t really worth it. Not by a long shot.
Like you, I discovered I’d rather be writing. And that’s why I’m here.
“I, of all people, should empathise and know how impossible it is to manage a toddler — who shouldn’t run around and shriek uncontrollably.”
I laughed here. Um…they’re toddlers. That’s exactly what they ARE supposed to do. :-) It’s just that other people don’t think the toddlers should act like toddlers around THEM.
