Let me qualify by saying I am not a new developer and have used all of the tools mentioned (Firebase, MySql, PostgreSQL, Mongo).
Describing MySQL as simply, “more mature” is erroneous.
But let me a address this first.
I never suggested you are not always making a choice between which system to use, nor did I says MySQL was the right choice for every development. Not sure what the point you were trying to make but re-read my argument for the pro and cons breakdown of using Firebase.
Now to the point I can address, which relates to the maturity of the frameworks.
Firebase is a different animal. It is not another flavor of RDBMS or NoSQL framework. It is a complete tool. A Google owned cloud storage database solution which automatically decides for you where your information forever be stored. Google servers. This is not the same idea as using a framework which gives you not only the flexibility but also the responsibility to outline, design, and assemble your own databanks and then create or purchase the server space needed to host them.
Of course there are advantages to Firebase over all the rest. Ease being the primary one (Oh, I went there). But on the list of pros vs cons when it comes to using Firebase, “maturity” does not even begin to address the fundamental difference.
As a self admitted newbie, I encourage you to hit your head up against the use of these tools, and see for yourself how fundamentally different they are, and what the actual trade-offs of using one or the other are.
