Sometimes, if the mistake is one of the ones that really gets under my skin, I actually stop reading certain pieces, stories or books. I just can’t.
I’m not perfect with my grammar, of course, but I can’t stand misused apostrophes, bad spelling and horrible verb mistakes.
Maybe it’s the modern languages teacher in me but I feel positively violent when I see things like “would/could/should of”. Argh!
I could probably make a list of the most annoying mistakes. Here’s another one: ‘defiantly’ instead of ‘definitely’. Noooo! Shtappp!
