Outside this window Finlay shows me his scooter tricks, whizzing up and around arcs of the smooth ramps at the skatepark with a signature scooter jump. Finlay’s left wrist is bandaged following an injury; he attempted a 180 trick at the park near his Dad’s house. The bone isn’t cracked or anything, Finlay assures me, it’s just a couple of stitches. And I don’t know why I didn’t make it, he said watching the older boys spin their scooters midair, because I do 360’s all the time. Wanna see? Outside this window is our local skatepark and my new friend Finlay, who decided I was cool. Because you’ve got a camera, he smiled as he pushed off. Watch me do this!
