Today we decided we are going to blog each day our efforts at studying to be software developers and get fit.

Mike Suchorolski suggested to me this morning that he was committing to writing on Medium each day as a form of commitment to learning to code and I have to say it’s a thought that occurred to me and hearing him say it, has galvanized me into action.

So unless I’m out of town camping or doing something outdoorsy that should take me away from coding and the computer in a healthy manner, then I’m going to blog every day here. It won’t be anything spectacular, so I may lose followers, but it’s what I need to do to succeed I believe.

Additionally I’ve been getting healthier this past 6 months, losing weight, so I’m going to bundle that in as well. My minimal goal each day has been to clear 12,000 steps. All the health guidelines say that we should be doing 10,000 or more, so I picked 12k as my minimum and then I lather on some skating and the gym from there.

2016 is going to be an exciting year for me. I’m with a great girl, I’m getting healthier and with each day I get more excited about a future that includes code in my life whether as part of my work, as my work or as a hobby on evenings and weekends. Who knows what the future holds, but I feel it’s a bright one again with lots of opportunity and great new friends along with my many existing great friends. Definitely looking up.
