Bottle Rocket Hot Sauce Co. is — as you might have guessed — a hot sauce company.

It was created by three friends: Jay Huffman, Josey Orr, and Collin Duddy and we want to let everyone get a behind-the-scenes look at its creation, day-to-day operation, and whatever else we can in as much detail as our lawyer will let us.

Some of the timing may be off in places, but this is mostly from memory so your just going to have to deal with it.

I — Jay —…

Meetings suck and we all know it. It’s time you started writing.

I want to talk about four ways that replacing meetings with long-form writing can help give your company a significant boost, but first I want to ramble a bit..

I spend a lot of time on Twitter, for better or for worse. It can be easy to get lost in the barrage of trolls, hot takes, and memes, but it’s not all bad. There is a lighthouse of hope that beams across the digital sea, beckoning the boats that drift along to meet at its shore. Believe it or not, there are people on Twitter who truly want to help…

You might not know who she is yet, but you will.

Sina Holwerda, better known by her stage name “Wynne” is a 22-year-old rapper hailing from Portland, Oregon. You might remember her sliding quickly across your timelines in 2018 after some of the lines from her performance in a local rap show went viral (video below). The lines:

It’s hailing in Portland

I guess I’m the daughter of Shady

prompted Twitter to do what Twitter does — take things out of context and run with it. …

I don’t need an exact daily routine and there is a good chance that you don’t either.

If you’ve ever read anything along the lines of “How to make your day better!” Or “5 ways to be more productive!” then you have probably seen the preachings of having a daily routine. Some people need structure in their lives and set daily routines work well for them, but most of us have lives that are just too hectic. Waking up at exactly 5 am and then getting to the gym at exactly 6 am and then eating breakfast at exactly 7 am is all just a pipe dream.

I have a 4 month (edit: as of 3/20/2020 she…

Danny Brown photo by Bryan Luna, Photographer, Highsnobiety

It’s been three years since music fans have been blessed with an album from Detroit rapper Danny Brown, but we can all rejoice as hip-hops prodigal son has finally returned. His fifth studio release carries the name badge of producers Q-Tip, JPegmafia, Flying Lotus, Thundercat, Cartie Curt, White, and Playa Haze, as well as features from Run The Jewels, Blood Orange, Jpegmafia, and Obongjayar.

Danny Brown has one of the most distinct voices in the history of hip-hop. While the nasally, high-pitched tone from his previous albums gives way to a deeper — albeit not by much — sound, you…

They aren’t quite what I thought when I first started.

I think I had the same idea that a lot of people have when they first start writing..

I wanted to be Hunter S. Fucking Thompson.

I wanted to be J.K. Rowling or Ernest Hemingway or.. you get the idea. I wanted to be sitting at the top of a lighthouse, overlooking the stormy seas, with a half-empty bottle of bourbon on my desk and another glass in the waiting. The words would spill out through my pen, each line more eloquent, thoughtful, and emotion-inducing than the last. I would do this night after night for a couple of months…

A few days ago I was talking with a friend of mine who had recently been thrust into a position of leadership at his small marketing agency. We were talking about how they were having a bit of trouble rebounding from the sudden departure of their CEO when he mentioned that their founder was moving he and his family over to the United States from Germany to try and get everything back in order. I have a huge interest (see: obsession) with remote companies and after a bit, I asked him if they ever considered becoming a fully remote team…

Tank circa 2016

When I was 17 I did something that was not very wise. That really wasn’t out of the ordinary for me at the time, but this was a step above. When most people move away for college and leave a girlfriend/boyfriend back home they gift them something to help remember them by. Something like a stuffed animal, some framed pictures, or a sweatshirt from their new school.

I got mine a dog.

This was in 2007 which was right around the time that every celebrity you saw was carrying a little dog in their purse and to be fair, she…

A bit of a habit I have is looking through job postings on places like WeWorkRemotely or LinkedIn. I’m not always necessarily looking for a new job, but I just like seeing whats out there. With that being said, I am always looking for new projects so holler at me any time you’d like. I really just like seeing the ways that companies position their open spots to potential hires. They usually come in the same exact format:

“COMPANY is looking to fill ROLE and APPLICANT must have the following QUALIFICATIONS.”

Something about the structure of job postings has always…
