Should I Get Dental Insurance?

I’ve had dental insurance and I’ve gone without it. I’ll be honest, when I didn’t have dental insurance, I was much less likely to make dental appointments unless a tooth actually broke or I was in excruciating pain. That may not be the case for you, but give some thought to whether you’ll be able to truly take care of your dental health without it. If the answer is yes, then don’t bother with the insurance!

And, as a side note, a non-insured dental story: I had my first root canal done at a dentist’s office inside a mall. I’m fairly certain it was housed inside what used to be one of those buffet-style restaurants that are super popular in Southern malls. I survived it, obviously, but the whole process was definitely weird, and I seem to recall keeping a temporary crown on for way longer than I was supposed to.
