A Political Disgrace-There Are No Words (and we should all be appalled)

Today, just for today, a plain-old selfie in my kitchen will do the trick.

I figured out why I haven’t had a desire to write for the past few days.

I’m not going to write any jokes this evening or craft any sarcastic prose. The stakes are too high. (Tomorrow I’ll be in a much better mood.)

I write about politics and, for the past week, politics-as-UNUSUAL has been a disgrace. I’m rendered speechless by an imbecile’s disregard of our laws, our norms and our collective common sensibilities.

Donald Trump might pardon himself and his family. Donald Trump might force Jeff Sessions to resign and appoint a new Attorney General who would fire Special Prosecutor Bob Mueller. The GOP led Congress might do absolutely nothing about it.

This might really, actually, realistically happen.

How is possible we arrived at this place? How can it be?

The absolute dumbest politician, the silliest, most transparent dimwit to ever hold public office might literally get away with this.

What are we doing America? What are you doing Congress? What am I my doing? What are you doing?
