Senior Learners Benefit from the ALLE Online™ Program -Jennifer Clancy of Phoenix, AZ
Research has proven that education can benefit anyone at any age. Seniors benefit from lifelong learning in a number of ways including improved cognition, improved memory, improved quality of life, improved socialization, and more. Learning can help stave off Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, while also being a great resource of fun for seniors.
The ALLE Online™ learning program is one that creates this type of excitement in senior learners who live in assisted living communities around the country. The program is taught by activity directors and staff members, and doesn’t at all resemble the boring lecture type classes that people think of when they think about college. Instead, this program, designed by Jennifer Clancy of Arizona, is interactive, exciting, engaging, and senior learners often tend to come back for more classes.
It’s affordable for senior living facilities, and it’s a plus when presenting potential residents to the benefits of the community. Lifelong learning is becoming more and more prevalent within assisted living communities, and people are coming to expect these facilities to be implementing positive activities for the senior to attend and participate in.
Some of the classes available through the ALLE Online™ learning program include “In the Enemy’s Country,” “Recycled Inspiration,” “1940-For Whom the Bell Tolls,” and many others. These classes come with a number of accessories that make them easy to teach and even more fun to learn. Some of these extras include a lesson plan, speaker notes, slider deck, questions for discussion, references & resources, participant handouts, etc.
ALLE Online™ was created by Jennifer Clancy of Phoenix, AZ who found inspiration in her mother who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. Wanting to enhance the quality of life for senior learners everywhere, she and her co-founder developed ALLE Learning™ in 2013, with the online version, ALLE Online™ being launched in 2016.
