Modern steampunk? That almost sounds like an oxymoron.

Steampunk is what the past would look like if it was in the future. Again, oxymoron. That concept can be compared to what the 80’s thought the future would look like by 2017, with holographic film advertisements and readily available hover boards (see Back to the Future). Nevertheless, steampunk is badass. Unfortunately, the sub-genre style is far from mainstream.

The new fashion startup, JetterFinn, ambitiously plans to change that. The startup claims to be a modern steampunk apparel company. They sell luxury-quality, organic steampunk clothing; a business model ‘geared’ specifically towards millennials.

Above all else, they donate a portion of their sales to several reputable non-profits. A strategy popularized by various fashion startups as consumers became more politically conscious of their purchases.

JetterFinn’s eccentrically fashionable clothing line is comparable to styles found in Urban Outfitters or Hot Topic. Thankfully, these purchases will do some good for mother Earth, we can binge shop and still feel good about those excessive purchases.

You can check out some more concepts on their website. They are currently holding a Kickstarter campaign for those of you that want to grab some apparel early on.
