I have a great amount of affinity with the J.N.Heiskell quote. I feel that the current media and its editors have lost sight of their obligation to speak honestly with “intelligence, sincerity and conviction” in order to appease greater corrupting interests. ‘Fake news’ or ‘appropriating truths’ is the product of powerful interest being served, as explored in this article advertising revenue is one catalyst for this. For this reason I believe Medium represents a unique opportunity to reinvigorate citizens and editors to participate a more authentic form of journalism, one where individual objectivity drives discursive network building. I look forward to when publications and its editors utilise and engage their imagined communities in a more democratic collective conscious as a way of building a diverse and constructive analysis (potentially action) surrounding issues and interests.

p.s: I am thoroughly enjoying this series and think it’s a brilliant and ahead of the curve way to diffuse and promote an idea/book! Well done!
