Buddy is a automation platform that helps developers by offloading everything that can be automated. Around the world, over 7,000 developers already use Buddy to develop and deploy their apps. The aim is to dominate the $110B industry which is estimated to triple in just a few years. Buddy began its journey back in 2016 with its beta release and is now a platform used by Inc. Magazine to develop their main project inc.com!

How does Buddy work?

Buddy works as a backbone for all the developers who want to write their code without the need of going through all the repetitive and common stuff that can be automated this way a lot of time can be saved and the projects can be finished a lot faster. Buddy helps the adaption of DevOps insanely easier, for those who don’t know, DevOps is a team of people who together achieve development, operations and quality assurance of the company. Not only is it financially beneficial and much more efficient but working in such a way has several benefits. The problem is that adaption of this new ideology is a difficult task, Buddy helps overcome these challenges faced by DevOps adaption: Mentality & Culture, Handling Legacy Infrastructure, App Complexity, Integration of Tools, Test Automation.
The way Buddy works is by providing developers with three features:

Automation Pipelines: More than 70+ ready to use automated steps are given to the developers. Pipelines are defined with default set of actions and the developer can choose a pipeline with desired starting point.

Sandboxes: Test environment to run and work on new apps that give instant application previews for every code branch before deploying them. Buddy supports a range of different environments most notably PHP, WordPress, Node.js, Python. You can test your WordPress plugins and themes in the sandbox before deploying them.

Integrations: Buddy is integrated with GitHub, Slack, Shopify, Microsoft Azure and may more. Integration improves workflow and connect Buddy with the partnered company.

Buddy has been providing these features way before the ICO, Buddy already has a working product and are increasing their functionality with the help of blockchain technology giving blockchain developers a new tool to work with. After the token sale additional three features will be integrated into the platform namely:

Automation GRID: Decentralized infrastructure for running an infinite number of automation tasks for app development.

DevOps Marketplace: People can send their own automation solutions for other developers, an app store for developers.

BlockchainOps: Set of automation tools and bots specifically made for creating blockchain based apps.

Partners& Customers

There is no denying that this is one of the most important aspect of any project and well, for Buddy the things look perfect here. Partnerships with Google, Amazon, Docker, GitHub, Microsoft is more than enough for a successful project. If you aren’t completely satisfied yet, INC. Magazine, CGI.com use Buddy to develop their main projects. John Guaragno, lead developer at Inc. says “We use Buddy for deploying & testing our main project ‘inc.com’ on our staging server as well as some automated tasks and things when pushing to production”.

Team

The team has been working together for a long time and are well known in their fields. Buddy consists of 17 hard working qualified members with years of experience. ICOBench, a popular ICO listing website has given the team of Buddy a rating of 4.9 out of 5!

Simon Szczepankowski: Worked 15 years in IT. Previously bootstrapped springloops.com which acquired more than 5000 paying customers. He is also the youngest polish author of the IT book Windows XP Optimization. Has a success score of 4.7 on ICOBench and is a premium Google AdSense partner in Poland.

Roadmap

Buddy started back in 2016 and has seen a lot of development in this time. By Q1 of 2019, the three additional features they promise to provide namely, BlockchainOps, Private Automation grid, DevOps Marketplace will be out. They are also working on other services which are to be developed before the end of 2019. The roadmap is definitely achievable and isn’t aimed far into the future after 2020 like most of the other projects, the fact that they have a successful working product now says enough already.

Token Sale

The Presale starts on 23 August, 2018 and goes on till 30 August. Crowdsale starts 1st September and ends on 30 Oct. 60% of the tokens will be sold in the token sale. The price of 1 BUD without any discount is 0,0002ETH and total of 470M BUD will be distributed in the sale. The Hard Cap is 60,000ETH and max BUD supply will be 670M. There is no maximum or minimum allocation on any of the stages of the sale so its quite possible that the tokens will be sold in the PreICO itself however I think the Hard Cap is too high so that’s unlikely unless some whales get in. BUD is a ERC20 token and runs on the Ethereum blockchain.

Final Thoughts

Buddy is probably one of the best ICO I’ve come across this year with a promising project and team, a finished product which is already used by some of the biggest companies. The partnerships are more than enough to back it up. DevOps and Automation platform is the future and is going to dominate the market heavily. Buddy is rated 4.7 by 17 Experts on ICOBench. The whitepaper is amazing and I highly recommend you checking it out. Head over to the website, read a few articles on their medium, check out their socials and you will understand why this is a ICO you don’t wanna miss out on and so I give Buddy a rating of 9.5/10.
