I am!
For some time I start noticing that when Mirko is introducing me to others he is referring to me as a “Man from the 80s”.
You know, Mirko is my friend and an IT company owner.
What?
What does he want? What is wrong with the 80s?
The best decade in the history of mankind. Isn’t it?
It is not because I was in high school and half of elementary school; all my feelings were made then.
I try to analyze other decades, especially after WW2. The 50s and 60s were still under WW2’s impression. Societies were recovering and trying to forget what has happened.
In 70' conservative chains start to fall and all kinds of freedoms were introduced. But everything was screaming for freedom. Music, culture, movies, fashion, and sports all were screaming for freedom. Like teenage of the World.

Janis Joplin was a typical screaming exponent of the 70s. She was screaming so much that I sometimes thought she suffered from a lot of pain in her backbone.
So, the 80s came as a balm for the soul. Everything comes to place.
The 80s
Like a transitional wave vibrating in “+” and then in “-” and then after some time, everything comes in order, in the 80s everything comes together.
Like everybody was creating from the heart and not for money. I am trying to watch new movies but have had no luck whatsoever. If it is a good movie I know that I already watched it. Now just remakes, and no new ideas. If it is a good movie it is based on a true story. Then it makes sense.
Whatever you try to analyze or compare today and the 80s it is soon obvious that motivation today is only money, not creation. Of course, there are bright examples but generally speaking, we are not advancing. Like I am in the recycling machine.
I understand that we have to move on. The future is now and the rest of the commercial and marketing tricks. Blah blah.
One day Mirko enthusiastically told me: “I watched a new movie. The “Dunes”. You should watch it.” Yeah, sure. I saw it in the 80s. Spare me, please.
It is like Agatha Christie’s detective novels. You can adapt the screenplay on 256th way but it is still good old Agatha.
