How to De-ess Vocals

Mixing vocals is a true art form. One of the things you will want to do when mixing vocals is De-ess. De-essing is a form of compression that takes out the annoying ess’s and shh’s that can negatively affect the vocal performance. It essentially is a frequency dependent compressor, and will reduce the specific frequency that you are trying to cut.
