Five tips to get you started in Graphic Design

Design is a long journey and some of us need a hand in the long road.

I decided to write an article for you to get started in graphic design and it’s just a general idea for you to start now.

So the first tip will be

1 — Kill the distraction

What i mean by killing the distraction is that you need to focus on one area. Because everyone can notice that we have hundreds of areas in Graphic Design such as “Ux design, motion graphics etc ..” So, set a goal, make a plan and grind to achieve it.

I am saying this because back in the days when i started i was so flirted by the beauty of this area and that and so i didn’t reach any goal. I made some skills but i found out that focusing on one thing and mastering it is way better than doing everything.

2 — Master The tools

Some people affirm that Adobe Photoshop is the industry standard and i really agree with that because you will probably need it for everything like Photo Manipulation, creating a website, creating a poster, a logo and the list goes on.

But, i also can say that Adobe Illustrator is worth learning, the program is so useful when it comes to creating illustrations, charts, graphs, logos, diagrams, cartoons of real photographs, and more. Also, it is vector based which means that you will be able to create clean and beautiful pieces which are scalable to infinity without ever losing quality.

3 — Watch Tutorials and explore more.

Back in the days when i started it was so hard for me to use the tools that Adobe Photoshop offers, so i had to rely on tutorials which are eveywhere “I used youtube”

So, if you give it time you will learn a lot of things, like techniques and how to do specific things and then with a bit of creativity you will be able to build things at your own.

4 — Kill your deamons

Roberto blake said that, and what he means is that in your road of going up some of you will have a small voice pulling you back, telling you that you are worthless and you can’t do nothing special.

We all have that problem and the only way to get over it is to PUT IN THE WORK.

Finally, Stay on track

Have you ever felt like giving up on something that you loved so much because it didn’t give a result ?

That is when you have to stay on track, because when you reach the point of giving up and do it any how you will build a habbit and that will bring you success.

You have to design even when you don’t feel like it and don’t listen to what others say. Accept ciritics even if they are so hard to swallow and let them build your abilities instead of bringing you down.
