420 is the unofficial stoner holiday and is widely celebrated in both legalized and non-legalized states. With the increasing legalization of medical and recreational marijuana, the festivities only get bigger and better every year.

Here are five things you can do to celebrate 420:

1. Plant cannabis seeds

If you live in one of the many states that allow you to legally grow cannabis in your own garden, consider planting a few cannabis seeds. Spring is the perfect time to plant a seed and reap what you sow at the end of the growing season, which varies depending on the strain and growing conditions. Planting seeds is also a great form of activism and a very rewarding activity that you will reap many benefits from.

2. Take a hike

If you are more of an outdoorsy type of person, explore a hiking trail in your area and make it a day trip. Enhancing hiking with cannabis is a great way to make the connection between human and mother nature more firmly rooted. Take advantage of the warmer weather, cannabis, and the company of good friends. Blazing trails and joints is a wonderful way to energetically celebrate 420.

3. Attend a 420 event

From rallies, to block parties, and music and art festivals, there are plenty of events throughout the week of 420. These events are typically both entertaining and educational, drawing massive crowds. Hit up the smoke-filled streets and dance all day to live music. Nothing feels more like a celebration than a massive gathering of cannabis-enthusiasts smoking up and jamming out together.

4. Travel to a legalized state

If you aren’t one of the lucky ones, take a road trip to one of the many legal states like California, Colorado, Oregon or Washington. Cannabis is as easy to buy in these states as it is to buy a Budweiser. We hear that Denver throws the craziest 420 events, so don’t miss out! Feeling extra adventurous? Book a plane ticket to another country where cannabis is legal to join the celebration.

5. Chill at home

Bake some weed brownies, roll a blunt and sit back and spend hours watching Netflix or the countless list of classic stoner films like Cheech and Chong, Super High Me, The Big Lebowski and Pineapple Express to name a few. Call in sick to work, take a day off for religious observance, this is a day to celebrate cannabis in any way you wish!

Lastly…

Abstaining from marijuana could also be an interesting way to celebrate 420. Just kidding! Who would want to do something as ridiculous as refraining from the holy herb?

Happy 420! 💨
