Donald Trump makes campaign stop in Macon

MACON, Ga. — Donald Trump spoke to a crowd of supporters last Monday at the Macon Coliseum. As the peculiar opening music playlist played, the crowd awaited Trump’s entrance. People waited anxiously, “Trump for President” played as 7:30 p.m. approached. An estimated 6,000 people were in attendance according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office. A few minutes late, Trump took the stage and the crowd went wild. Trump took stabs at his adversaries on both the Democratic and Republican side. According to Trump, “Hillary Clinton doesn’t have the strength or stamina to be president,” he said. And Bernie Sanders, “had an operation today. You know why? Carrying too many tax problems.”
Trump gave his opinion on the situation in the Middle East, ISIS in particular and what he thinks should be done. He went on to talk about the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare), immigration and his own success in the polls. David and Tracy Sweet described Trump’s speech as “very inspiring.” David Sweet said, “I just feel like he’ll do what he says, and that’s something that’s missing in politics right now.” Tracy Sweet said, “I’m very concerned about immigration and the debt and all that, and he’s addressing all that.” David and Tracy are a married couple from Atlanta who described themselves as Republican-leaning independents who were very pleased overall with Trump’s speech. This seemed to be the opinion and view of many in attendance at the rally.
Another supporter in attendance, Tripp Seda, a 25-year-old Republican from Milner, Ga., said “It was really neat to see that many people from so many backgrounds coming out to support somebody like that.” Seda said, “He seems personable, and he didn’t seem like he was trying to be anybody but himself.” Trump, being known for his flamboyant actions, seemed to curse often throughout his speech. “I did think he swore a little that I did not think was quite appropriate but that’s about the only thing I didn’t care for,” Seda said.
