The Maupin Loo was motivated by multi-day rafting trips however the product addresses anyone who needs a rugged-portable-potty-solution. Other key features include:

The first article about the Maupin Loo showed V0, V1 and gave a nod towards V2. We are pleased to announce that V2 is complete and moving into field testing.
V2 is a huge leap forward in ruggedness and portability:
- Main body utilizes the latest BX offering from world famous Pelican Case for strength and weather protection.
- Diverter and composting components were switched to the smallest available from Kildwick for portability while retaining reasonable capacity.
- Diverter nest was upgraded to HDPE for strength and sanitation purposes.
- Seat size was reduced for portability.
Using a buy/build approach we leveraged the highest quality, off-the-shelf components and then modified/fabricated when appropriate.
Pelican Case
At $250 the Pelican case dramatically increases production costs however nothing fits the bill better. The BX50 includes the following features:

E-COATED STEEL LATCHES — Over-center design steel latches are easily opened from the top of the case and include padlock hasps. Every part gets a twin-layer electroplate coating for superior corrosion resistance.
HEAVY DUTY LAY-FLAT HANDLES Designed for the military, our lay-flat handles stay out of the way, lock at 90˚ and offer a comfortable, full grip. A huge improvement over rope handles.”

Next Steps
Several rafting businesses have expressed interest in the Maupin Loo. V2 is now entering field testing. After testing and feedback further refinements will be made for V3 and units will be available for purchase.
