Was this empirically verified somehow? I see myself just randomly holding it down based on what I want to do next, whether I’m hungry for lunch, how much I’m procrastinating, etc. If you’re so worried about a binary option, I can (and anyone reading this) can surely come up with a dozen alternatives off the top of our head. None of them are better? Doubtful.
Try explaining how many claps you have to a non-Medium person. They’ll raise their brow. Try explaining how many recommends you have. They’ll say, “Oh. Cool.” (And maybe they’ll check out the platform too.)
Plus, it’s cheesy.
