Your conflating his title (which is a marketing gimmick, to be sure) with the principle as typically understood. (I can’t recall TF’s exact description, but I remember it being more nuanced than his title, or your article, implies.) Although I can’t speak for all “productivity gurus,” many (myself included) describe the principle not as a shortcut, but as a strategy for allocating time, energy, etc.
