I don’t think we should argue against accuracy or acting craft in a biographical movie. I’m sure you’re right and Snowden would have communicated it’s message better without a distracting accent, but let’s not encourage the Sean Connerys’ of the world to butcher every role they’re in. I think we can agree that while Snowden’s accent is incidental to the message, no one except Russian submarine captains want Russian submarine captains to sound like James Bond.
