Resuscitating Cersei’s career was the real problem with Euron. How has she not drunk herself to death after losing her children? Is Jamie really going down with this ship? How has no one else seized power? She was depicted as historically unpopular, so continuing this thread doesn’t feel right. Neither does Dany waiting years to go to Westeros then stopping short, like Moses, but for political reasons? Dragonstone can host multiple armies indefinitely now?

Truth is, GoT needs Euron because GRRM is a horror writer and he doesn’t like ending stories. So he’ll be chucking complications out up til the end, past the point of ridiculousness, like the many reincarnations of Jon. Victarian, for example, has a fleet in the books and shaky allegiance to Euron. There’s a horn that can destroy the Wall, there’s a horn that can bind dragons. Worth mentioning.
