The tanking is too much. Hinkie has shown that you can set the franchise farther back than even a great draft pick can rescure. Lebron didn’t win in Cleveland in his first stay, after all. The celtics nearly lost Pierce with their tanking. It’s often self-defeating. Tomorrow might never come, life, injuries, retirements, owners happen. You have to win today.
Minnesota got KG and it wasn’t enough. Pelicans got the Brow. Hope in high draft picks is misplaced. Even Lebron, the ultimate draft prize, lost to the Warriors, built around lower draft picks.
These aren’t fantasy teams and while I love Hinkie and Phillie it’s still cautionary tale until it’s a contender.
