Dusk & Dawn

I went for a last minute walk with my dog Barry

Returning home just as dusk sets in

Observing the shadow play of bougainvillea bushes on a wooden gate

Listening to the calming sound of crickets waking up

When it dawned on me

I might well be living

In a paradisiac

Dream

And in the midst of it all

It dawns on me

It’s the small things

It’s always been
