And so it begins…

My first foray into the world of blogging! I’ve been reading a few amazing blogs lately and — after finally settling into Boston after 3 years — I have decided to venture into this fun, creative, and soul searching world.

As many, many people (especially those in their mid-20's) will tell you, growing up is hard. While everyone grows up at different ages, different paces, and in different ways, becoming independent and setting goals and trajectories for your life certainly is stressful.

In an attempt to do some soul searching on what will be a long journey, I have decided to focus on three things in my life. I’ll call them my three c’s:

Cooking: Now I love cooking, and think that I’m pretty darn good at it. That being said, I don’t really cook that often. Not only am I hoping to gather many a good recipes (suggestions wanted!), I am also hoping that my cooking will increase from 2(ish) nights a week to 6 nights a week. Ambitious I know.

Cardio: As a way to preemptively set myself up for success, I have already signed up to run a 10k with my mom in February 2015 at Disney for their “Princess” weekend. I honestly don’t think I could have picked a better race to start with (crowns and tutus? yes please!).

Church: As one who never went to church habitually growing up, this is a new one for me. I’ve always been interested in the Christian faith (I minored in Religious Studies with my concentration in Christianity) at UVa, but never got involved with a church or a Christian community. I’ve gone to a few churches in the Boston area and Trinity Church in Copley Square is not only gorgeous but has a lot of fellowship activities for young adults.

I will try to post at least once a week on how I am doing — so I hope that you will join me on this journey where I intend to learn a lot about my three c’s, and hopefully more. Stay tuned!
