Losing my second laptop under 6 months — and guess where!

On Valentine’s day 2015 I lost my first wife somewhere in Africa. I vowed to be more careful and practically carried my laptop every where I went except to shower of course, but as Murphys law will have it, — “anything that can go wrong, will go wrong”. My new laptop just had to get lost just 3 months into its use.
I went with a friend to the national theatre for a musical show. I had my laptop with me for a reason best known to fate and murphy. It was a great show, good music, even better dancing. It was getting late and my friend had to leave before the end of the show so I placed my laptop in my seat and made my way out to see her off. Outside, there was a lot of talking and before we knew it an hour had passed before I could get rid of her in an Uber. Meanwhile, the show had ended and everyone made their way out so quickly it looked like an evacuation in a movie scene. I just closed the door to the cab when I remembered I left my laptop on my seat in the theatre. I bolted faster than Usain and got to the theatre entrance just when the last door was been shut. The security man refused to let me go in. I told him I had left my laptop and needed to pick it up badly. I sounded super desperate like a certain politician for votes. I begged and begged but this security guy just wouldn’t budge. I thought to myself… this guy will definitely have this laptop for himself should I give up. I took out my phone to check the time. Just then the security guy agreed to take me inside to pick up my laptop. Probably he figured a guy with an iPhone 6 could sort him out well if he played nice. We unlocked the door and just when he was about to turn the handle to let me in I woke up from sleep. Jesus! How can you play such a practical joke on me. Whew!! I’ve never been so excited to be this awake.
