I completely agree. I consider FCC almost more like daily challenges. I read books and websites and use SoloLearn and Codecademy for the most part to learn the actual ‘how and why’ aspects of the coding.
FCC more just gives you challenges but they do a poor job of explaining things, and sometimes the ‘examples’ are not helpful at all or worse actually sort of send you off in the wrong direction.
But I guess that’s part of the challenge. You’re supposed to know already whether you should use an if/else loop or switch statement,..they wont recommend it. They’ll just say “do this” and have an odd example that may or may not actually help.
