Thanks for pointing that out — I definitely don’t think I know a lot about bias. I am trying to be part of the conversation to try to help improve things though, although it is hard to know the right way to express it sometimes. Any suggestions for how to do better next time?

I shared the article in hopes of sharing the concept more broadly with the author and readers who may be unfamiliar — it is hard to prove bias is responsible for a particular situation, but I found the statistical experiments in the article very disturbing. While the author did mention that her area is male-dominated, I couldn’t tell for certain if she thought bias was responsible for her actions being perceived as intimidating.
