I’m seeing a consistent theme here. For example:
I heard a secretary laugh and say that “this professor always hires the cute girls.”
I’ve heard women at work refer to it as “playing the ‘C’ card” (as in ‘chick’). I know it sounds sexist, but that’s what they call it, and they know they can use it to advantage.
So here’s my question: Would you give up the “C” card in exchange for economic equality? Would you thrive in a world where men didn’t want you any more than you wanted them?
It just might be that the resistance from men is the other side of the same coin.
