Day 2: Landing page. The basics

Not a productive day. But I’ve been thinking about the landing page.

Creating a landing page tends to be a very careful process in terms of bootstrapping. You need to choose an appealing design, and cautiously create the copy. You set some ads and you test. And iterate.

I want to have a landing page, because I want to have some presence. It makes it more “real”. But I cannot dedicate too much time to a landing page because I want to build and test my product, not a landing page. And I envision my product to be mobile-first (maybe even mobile only), so no interest in landing page as first step in site.

I’ve been thinking, and I think it’s best to be honest.

  1. What’s this about? The bio in Twitter is “ Uncovering a new way to deal with good old email”. It seems good enough
  2. Some characteristics: Fast and mobile first. Inbox zero by default. Crappy email in its bucket.

3. A place to register interest.

That’s it. Short an sweet. Will I be able to do anything tomorrow?
