Harnessing the potential of decentralized technologies, imusify is connecting musicians and their fans, as well as other stakeholders (producers, labels, etc.), by creating a platform for the new music economy. It integrates the best practices of crowdfunding, streaming, media sharing, social networks, and management of the music value chain. The combination enables the musicians to fund the production of their music (Funding & Monetization), track the use of their content (Digital Rights Management), and be paid for plays and downloads via smart contracts (Payment Transparency); and the fans to support and enjoy the music of their favourite artist. Our unique value proposition is the use of blockchain ledgers to track content and smart contracts to automate the fair distribution of royalties.
Competitive Advantage
With the value of the global market for digital music exceeding 12,000,000,000 USD, it is hardly surprising that imusify must compete with some strong global players to acquire a market share. However, be it Spotify in the streaming services market, iTunes in the digital downloads market, or Pledge Music in crowdfunding of music projects market, none of these players are direct competitors of imusify. Our main advantage is in merging all of the services aforementioned on a powerful blockchain platform, thus allowing us to take a new approach towards solving the problems of digital rights man-
agement, transparency, and compensation. Furthermore, the incorporation of the elements of a social network and automation of rewards for activity results in unique user experience. Despite being “artist-centric”, the imusify platform positions itself as an ecosystem in which all users are incentivised to play active roles in the ecosystem, rather than simply being recipients of the content. Such engagement will promote the longevity of imusify’s value to its users and support its relevance long into the future.

In 2015, digital music revenue surpassed physical revenue and become the most popular method of consumption in the United States1. On a broader scale, the Global Entertainment and Media Outlook shows global music industry revenue steadily increasing through 2021, with subscription based music services hitting their peak year on year % growth in 20182. Considering the disruptive power that blockchaintechnology presents, we can anticipate that more efficient and fair infrastructure will phase out streaming services in the near future.
Company Structure
The company is incorporated as a private limited liability company limited by shares, duly incorporated in 2018 under the laws of Estonia. The company has one subsidiary company, duly incorporated as a private limited liability company, under the laws of Federal Republic of Germany in 2018. imusify chose the Estonia as the place for incorporation due to a clear stance of local authorities and the country’s Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) on the treatment of enterprises performing token crowdsales. imusify does not require significant infrastructure or facilities for the conduct of its business operations, and allows for a lean model of operations.The company’s core
team is comprised of more than a dozen highly skilled and educated individuals (developers, entrepreneurs, marketing consultants, lawyers, financial experts, etc.), who proved their dedication to the vision by setting aside their lucrative careers to work on this project and bootstrap the business. A majority of them had direct exposure to the music industry and many are even musicians themselves in their own right. Their passion is shared by over 300 contributors, and advisors, who participated in the
development of the concept, the business model, and strategic directives. In November 2017, the platform won its first award for second place out of 40 other competitors in the inaugural CoZ dApp Competition.
