I thought this piece was interesting. I like how you tied imagination with a tutor’s thought process. I’ve never really thought about what a tutor might be thinking, mostly because I was the one receiving the tutoring and was concentrating on trying to understand. Your piece left me thinking about how the tutor teaches something that they’re imagining in their head which brings their imagination to reality in a very concrete and lasting way — through teaching. I also thought it was interesting how the way the tutor teaches something might not be understood by the student, so they have to be prepared with other ways of explaining the problem. Would you say that when a tutor is trying to teach something they’re also actively trying to figure out the student’s imagination — or — how that student is or isn’t comprehending what they say so that they can do their job better?
