Trash Cans of Disneyland

Each area in Disneyland has a unique trashcan design. Using a standard physical structure, a humble trash can captures the essence of its themed location, typical of the detailed environmental design throughout Disneyland and California Adventure. Here are a few captured in mid October.

Park Entrance.

This could have been the basic trash can throughout the Park.

Main Street

Victorian inspired. Lacks a Disney character.

New Orleans Square

Victorian-ish with Jiminy Cricket: suppose Pirate or a Haunted Mansion ghost couldn’t encourage guests to recycle.

Tom Sawyer Island

Saw only single cans. No recycling on the island?

Fantasyland

Interesting choice to go Tyrolean rather than French Chateau.

Tomorrowland

No Disney character affiliation

Star Wars Launch Bay, in Tomorrowland

Surprised a Yoda isn’t encouraging me to “Do or do not. There is no try”.

Faux Napa in California Adventure

Elegant grape leaf motif could be in Calistoga.

Grizzly Peak in California Adventure

Evocative of National Park Service graphic design system.

It’s A Small World

So wonderfully Mary Blair.

Toontown

The broom is oh so jaunty.

Paradise Pier in California Adventure

Radiator Springs in California Adventure Cars Land

This one confuses me. Rather than display any of the Pixar “Cars” characters, a WPA federal-ish medallion for the “Cars” location.

Hollywood Land in California Adventure

Note no request to recycle or “Keep It Clean”.
