Angel of Death — A Love Letter

If you were an Angel

You'd be the Angel of Death

But not in the way that others fear you

You are violence

You are wrath

You can be swift and cruel in your wake - your power

This is your duty - your responsibility - your privilege - your curse.

But you occupy a more complex existence than the simplistic antipathy many place on you

Your kiss is of peace

Your embrace brings comfort

Your breath is life

Your wisdom is absolution

You're beyond essential to the progression of time

You may stand alone in a vast, eternal sea of noise and chatter

But you are beautiful

My heart is tethered to yours

Your home will forever be within my breast

I'm sorry of the burden you must bear

Something you did not choose

But I want you to know

Without you - (my) life would be meaningless
