One thing you don't mention is that, although Jews don't proselytise, there are people of all colors that convert to Judaism. This challenges your definition of the distinct history. I think it's better to say that they follow the religion that is the precursor to Christianity and have a distinct culture, historical geographic land, language (albeit not spoken by all), and religion.

Also, some people don't seem to understand that Jesus was Jewish. He was a rabbi.
