This is story I started write for someone a few years ago I still need to finish it and will do in due coarse it was written for a girl I was chatting to on a chat site it was ment to help her through a stage of depression. But wasn’t enough at the time the next I herd was from her supposed sister saying she had taken her life hence I stoped the story but should be able to complete it now time has passed and emotions have settled enough. But I also have a few questions for you Jake if you could PM me or email me please. So here is the start of this story. There was already written a few more paragraphs or chapters depending how you look at it but have to rewrite them and then continue to finish it which I will endeavour to do in the very near future.
I awake at dawn to the smell of bacon and I eggs cooking. I raise my head from the large. Four posted bed I have been sleeping on to look through the window at the other side of the room to see the sun just starting to appear above the small hills on the far horizon. It is time for me to rise as I have organised to accompany the station owner on a ride to check the fences and water troths for the vast property and the cattle that he runs on it. I am visiting a family friends son who owns a very large cattle station in the outback of Australia. I arrived here yesterday by a small. plane. he had flown to Sydney in to pick me up from the airport after I had arrived in a large plane from England. He was a 6" tall man of very solid build light brown hair and beautiful blue eyes and clean shaven with a rugged face and strong squarish shaped jaw line. He is a very attractive man and about two years older than me. So after stretching a little and contemplating what the day on our horse ride might be like I rise from bed and go to the bathroom and freshen up a bit first rinsing my fast then brushing my hair. He must have heard somehow that I had gotten up and he yelled out that breakfast is being served Katy come and eat it while it is still hot. So I finish brushing my hair and put my dressing gown on so I can go to the dinning room to have breakfast with him. I walk down the large hallway past the lounge room to the dinning room. He bore the breakfast are in there it is a large room with an 8 seater timber dinning table and a large bowl of fruit placed in the middle on the other side of the room there is a set of French doors they are open and I can hear him making noises from the cutlery scraping against the porcelain plate. So I make my way around the table and through the doors to Se him sitting at another table on the verandah. It was absolutely beautiful out there the verandah is constructed of a timber floor with a bullnose corrugated iron roof with white timber posts and a white timber handrail between them.
On the other side of the hand rail was a magnificent garden I could see some green bushes spread out along there and some roses and lilies and other plants and flowers strewn out in between the bushes alongside the whole length of the verandah. The sun was over halfway showing now above the hills in the horizon and the dew on the lawn in the house yard was starting to glisten like little diamonds spread across the lawn with the smell of the plants, trees, flowers and fresh country air. tantalising my nose I had to take a few deep breathes and soak it all in. He stood up and pulled a chair out and turned to me and said good morning. miss Katy please take a seat, I walked over and started to lower myself into the seat and he pushed the chair in for me at the same time. After I was being seated I said good morning Mark. I then commented on how beautiful it was here and how lovely the air smelt as he was pouring me a cup of tea from the freshly made pot he had on the table. I said thank you and looked at my plate to see sausages, bacon, baked beans and a couple of poached eggs with two slices of toast on a side plate and also a glass of orange juice. I looked at him and said I couldn’t possibly eat all this Mark. He looked at me with those amazing blue eyes and said do your best miss Katy it will be a long day ridding the fences and checking the troths have water and we will only have a few sandwiches and a couple of biscuits to eat through out the day till we return and make dinner. So with that I said ok Mark I will try and started to eat breakfast and sip on my tea. As we where eating he started to tell me how the day was to to be planned out and the types of things we might encounter and what he would hope to achieve out of the day. Starting with while I shower and get ready he would prepare and saddle the horses he had already prepared our lunches and some flasks of tea and also told me he has plenty of water to take with us to drink through the day. We finished breakfast and I had eat most of it surprisingly.
I give him a hand to take everything back to the kitchen and he starts rinsing everything. I ask if I could give him a hand to do the dishes an he explains that the stock hands wife who lives in another house on the property a couple km’s away and will come over during the day and do them while she cleans the house and will also get our dinner prepared and started cooking before return in the evening. He also stated that we should see the stock hand at some stage throughout the day as he and two other men will be droving cattle from an adjoining paddock to the one we are ensuring is ready for them to graze on and be retained in. Then he goes onto say each paddock is around 150 hectares and he has 18 paddocks on the station and has cattle on 12 of them and uses the other 6 to rotate them around to allow the feed to grow. The hole time he was speaking I was admiring his eyes and the way he moves and looks he is also a well spoken man with a soft but stern voice. He then says well miss Katy we better make a move before we lose to much time out of our day we will have plenty of time to talk as we are ridding now you go get ready while I go to the stables and prepare and saddle the horses ok. I say sure and he starts head out to the stables as he reaches the door he turns and says oh you will need a good hat out there the sun gets quiet harsh in the middle of the day out here if you don’t have one you should be able to find one to fit you on the rack at the soo of the lounge room. He then leaves and I go and have a shower and get dressed for the day. While I was doing that I was thinking about how beautiful it was here in the country air miles from anyone else the wonderful sunrise and country smells. Then I started thinking about his stunning blue eyes and how kind gentle and handsome Mark is. I then realised I was days dreaming and that he would be waiting on me so I rushed to finish getting ready and went and tried on a couple of hats till I found one to fit then hurried over to the stables.
As I anticipated the horses where saddled and ready to go the where tied to a rail on the outside of the horse yard next to the stables. I could see Mark inside the horse yard placing some hey down and patting the chest and main of one of the horses left in the yard. I was standing there holding the too rail of the yard admiring him there with the other horse following and staying in close to him for more pats as he is placing down there feed. thinking he is truly a gentle and caring man. The horses certainly love him and has treated me with nothing but kindness and respect since we meet at the airport yesterday. It was then he noticed I was there and said are you ready miss Katy we should be on our way as he was walking across the horse yard to where towards me and the saddled horses were waiting the other horse in the yard followed him all the way. He climbed out through the rails and said you can ride the chestnut mare miss Katy she is the one closet to you her name is Lilly she is very a very placid horse and likes more to follow rather than lead so now. let her meet you before I help you to mount her. Come around to the front with me let her smell you hand and pat the too of her nose and head a bit as you talk to her and say hello. After a minute or so of doing just that he says ok come around here grab the rains and place them to the front of the saddle then keep a hold of them and get a good grip on the saddle at the same time ok now put your left foot into the stirrup and lift yourself up and swing your right leg over while I help you keep balanced now place your right foot into the other stirrup and get comfortable while I climb onto old Sam here once he was on he said so grab the rains properly now and turn her head a bit to face me she will do the rest Mark and Sam started to move and I turned Lilly’s head slightly and she took off a bit to catch up beside them and we where on our way. I started think how fantastic everything had been so far and how great this was feeling.
I could see this was going to be a very memorable experience. It was the first time I have flown to another country or even been this far out of England I have once been taken through the channel tunnel to France for a family holiday a few years ago now, I loved it there too but I have never been in such wide open country before with so few people around me there is no traffic nor the site of any cars or roads, there are no buildings or houses in site other then the homestead we are just riding away from. There is nothing but wide open planes with a few trees scattered around on them. The smell is also so different to what I am used to it is so crisp and fresh I can smell the sent of flowers grass and the earth below us as we are riding off into the distance. This is also the first time I have ever been on a horse and even though I am still a bit nervous it is also very exciting. I was bounced around a bit at the start but it is feeling better as we ride along I don’t seem to be bouncing now. Mark says, how are you going miss Katy are you feeling comfortable with Lilly there. I say it is getting better, it was quiet bouncy at the start. He then said, you must be getting into the rythim of the horse. That is great because we have a lot of riding to do today we have at least another hours ride before we even get to the paddock we have to check. So you feel comfortable enough with Lilly now if we pick up the pace a little. I say yes am feeling comfortable with her and enjoying the riding her. He then starts to go a bit faster and Lilly also. catches up to them and gets into a canter I hold on a bit tighter as I am getting used to the new rhythm of the horse which doesn’t take long. I look slightly to my right and notice the sun is up a fair way above the hills in the horizon now then look back to see where we left from and see that we are now a long way from the homestead it is barely visible in the distance I look back to my left and see Mark and Sam. We then started to slow down again we where approaching a gate.
We came to a stop and Mark dismounted to open the gate he half opened while holding onto the rains of Sam and said take Lilly through just kick your heals in a little bit into her belly not very hard then on the other side pull back on the rains and push your knees in tight and she will stop. I done as he told me and it all worked he then lead Sam through and shut the gate and then remounted him. We then took off again and where back into a canter. Mark started asking me how I feeling and if I was enjoying with the ride so far which I was it was a tremendous feeling having a magnificent animal allowing me to ride her alongside a very handsome man in a very peaceful atmosphere in a country. I have never seen before even the trees, bushes and grass where all new to me, I was trying to take in everything. But I found it hard to stop myself from constantly looking at Mark he is such a handsome man and seemingly perfect, kind, gentle and caring. I started to wonder what he might think of me, does he like me, could he be attracted to me too. It was so hard to tell he was definitely the strong silent type. What is he thinking about as we are riding along. What type of women does he like. So many questions I was asking myself I guess I will find the answers to some of them during my stay here. It didn’t seem long and we where at another gate. We did the same again as the last gate but this time ha said after remounting his horse. Ok miss Katy this is the paddock we have to check over, it is 8 o’clock now if we follow the fence line here to the left down the bottom corner there is a great dam with some very shady trees along the back side of it when we get to there we might stop for a while and have a cup of tea and a biscuit if you like. I said that sounds great to me. We got going again this time back at a slower pace and we where chatting all the way about both our families and about where he grew up and where I had had grown up and gone to school ect. Then we had reached the dam. We dismounted the horses.
Then we walked them to the water to have a drink before tying them up in the shade before sitting ourselves and Mark pouring us a cup of tea each and opening the container of biscuits he had. It was a lovely spot under the trees on a seat he must of made at some stage consisting of a plank fixed to a couple of stumps, overlooking the dam and thicker bush land the other side of the fence. We where having a great convention about things either of us had done in the past and laughing at ourselves and each other. I was having such a wonderful day with a handsome man who was such great company experiencing so many new things. It was time for us to go again so Mark packed the flask cups and biscuit container back into one of the saddle bags then helped me to get back on my horse before we continued to ride along the fence line. While we where riding we continued to chat about our pasts and things we each liked. We where getting on so well the more we talked the more I was liking him and he was starting to give me signs he was showing and interest in me too. Which I found very flattering and it was getting me excited with the idea that we could have a mutual attraction for each other. We had to stop a couple of times while he fixed broken wires in the fence an also checked that the floats where working correctly in the water troths. It was starting to get very hot. It was getting close to midday now and I am not used to this type of temperature, I was dressed in jeans with a long sleeve flannel shirt with a singlet under that. I had unbuttoned my shirt but mark had suggested I leave it on as the sun would quickly burn my fair complexion. He said we would stop for lunch up at the next troth as there where some nice trees right near it and that I could cool off a bit there by tipping the water over myself if I would like to. It wasn’t to much longer and we where there we dismounted the horses and while they where having a drink Mark removed his hat then started to throw. water all over his face.
He then submerged his hat in the water and bringing it back out completely full of water. He then raised his hat up above his head and emptied its contents all over himself, then while holding in his hat in one hand he first shook his head a bit shaking some of the water out of his hair. Then. used his free hand with fingers spread running them through his hair stating from the front pushing them through to the rear which both straightened his hair a bit and stopped the water from running from his hair into his eyes, he then wiped his eyes with the bottom of his now saturated shirt and then looked at me with those beautiful blue eyes while saying. The temperature of the water is superb you will feel a lot cooler afterwards. But while you do that I will tie Lilly up in the shade over there and leave our lunch the flask of tea and some drinking water under those other trees by that old log. While you cool down and then start lunch I will take Sam for a quick ride up there to check the last bit of fence I should only take about ten minutes then after I return and we have lunch we can start making our way back home the other fence line should be good we just have to check the other troths on our way. I said that will be ok Mark. He then tied Lilly up and placed down our lunch and quickly rode off. I started splashing water over my face and it felt great I then used my hat to pour water over me it was so good I done this several times. With no one in site I then thought to remove my flannel shirt and soak it in the water, while doing. that I decided to dunk my head and upper body in the water. I was feeling so much cooler after doing that so I decided to leave my flannelette shirt in there while I had lunch in the shade and grab it before we left again and possibly dunk myself again then so I shook some of the water out of my hair and. wiped my eyes then went over and sat on the old log and first had a drink of water and then opened the sandwich box and started eating.
It wasn’t long and I could hear Mark and Sam returning. When he arrived he tied Sam up next to Lilly and came over for lunch he said I told you I wouldn’t be long, then picked up the flask and sat on the log and took his hat off and put it down on the far side of him, then he spun around towards me straddling the log placed his cup on it and poured a cup of tea. Then asked if I could pass him a sandwich. I done so then continued eating mine. After a short while I could feel that Mark was staring at me. Which made me feel a little excited, I was sitting there my long Auburn coloured hair had gone a more red colour, very wavy and slightly curly from the water, it would’ve also been quiet disorganised as I also only used my fingers to brush it and water was still dripping from its ends. Wearing only my white singlet also drenched and clinging to my body and jeans where at least half wet. I. pretended not notice and was enjoying the thought and feeling of Mark staring at me I avoided to make eye contact with him and aloud it to continue as long as it could. Until he said I think your hair looks great like that it’s very appealing to me and your skin looks so soft and is the colour of an angel from heaven above. I started smiling and turned towards him and also straddled the log with my legs and put my hands on my knees and then looking into his beautiful blue eyes and unable to control my smile I said. You are a very kind man Mark but you must be exaggerating I think hair would look a mess at the moment, but thank you for angelic reference of my skin I have never had a reference of me like that before. I then raised my hands to pull my hair back into a ponytail. Mark said please leave it down, and proclaimed that he really did like my hair with that look. So I let it go then decided to reveal what I thought of him, so I looked at him and then told Mark that he had the most amazing blue eyes, then said I thought he had a rugged but extremely attractive face and his height and body shape , personality,
