Tweets of the Week
Unfortunately, I am terrible at Twitter. My challenges for this week was forgetting to post on Twitter and struggling to come up with good captions for the articles I was posting. Particularly, avoiding cannabis puns. The word count restriction was also a challenge since I wanted to include enough information to give the reader what the article is about, but including the links takes away from the amount of characters that can be posted.
I experienced trouble on the technical side as well. I went to add in my first photo that I took myself for the week of Zac Cohen and it kept showing up in the tweet upside down. When I tried turning it over from the save file on my computer, it still showed up as upside down. While I’ve learned a lot about Twitter this week, I still have a ways to go.
In summation, my Twitter present is in desperate need of attention. Especially over the course of the week. However, one of the biggest takeaways from this class and from the speakers is the importance of having a presence on all media platforms. Also how being successful in the media industry relies heavily on being able to navigate many forms of online media from Twitter and other social media, to online design and knowledge about SEOs. That it’s not enough to be a good writer, also knowing how to put your writing out there in a way that helps its likelihood of consumption.
