You4me: Our story

You4me was born out of a personal struggle I faced: being socially awkward and shy, I found it challenging to socialize and meet new people. Turning to dating apps seemed like the only option, but I soon realized that most of these platforms were geared towards casual or transactional encounters rather than meaningful relationships. Additionally, scammers lurked, preying on genuine individuals seeking connections and often taking advantage of their trust and hard-earned money. The endless cycle of superficial “getting-to-know-you” messages on these apps was disheartening, leading to disinterest and frustration.

To address these problems, I set out to build a dating app that offers a safe haven for those genuinely interested in meaningful connections.

Here’s how You4me aims to solve these issues:

1. Adopting a “Go-on-a-date” First Approach: Taking inspiration from the “old school” ways of dating, our app encourages users to meet in person at a neutral location for their first interaction. This approach helps filter out individuals seeking only transactional encounters, as such people are unlikely to be interested in genuine face-to-face meetings. No more boring and endless chat sessions — just go on a date!

2. Simplifying User Profiles: I believe that getting to know someone should be easy and authentic. Hence, user profiles on You4me consist of a brief 30-second video where users can introduce themselves to potential matches. To maintain the integrity of the platform, a team reviews each video submission to ensure honesty and transparency. Additionally, users share essential relationship-building information such as religious stand, sexual orientation, and date of birth. Everyone is welcome, regardless of their background, orientation, or beliefs.

The mission is to create an app that fosters genuine connections and meaningful relationships, empowering the users to break free from the endless virtual conversations and meet someone special in person.
